New Map, More Changes, Excuse our Sawdust

It hasn’t been exactly under wraps by any means, but we’re currently working on a new map to better suit our growing community. This may take some time to complete fully, but once its in a working state this should be something that can grow along with us in terms of size and how accommodating it is for our players.

Along with the map changes we’ll be introducing some new mechanics; new classes (and refinements, abilities too!), exploration of the knockout system, new skills, and the new magic system.

While these aspects are in the works, we plan on staying open with what will be known as our “Legacy Map”, and our original systems which have been tested against the metals of our open beta. The next steps in our story will be markedly different, and more directed in terms of a storyline – exciting things on the horizon.

There will be ample notice before the new systems and map take affect. Hope to see you in-game,

Two new Seers

I’d like to take a moment and welcome two new staff members aboard: Lannen and Selwyn.

Lannen has been helping a great deal with the Lore, especially in the area of the Gods and the storylines pertaining to world advancement.

Selwyn has been creating some really stunning new art for the shard, and has even created some Lore art.

Both of these new Staff members will be ensuring that Quests and Events will be occurring regularly throughout the week.

Travel System, More Quests, More fun

Greetings weary travelers,

We’re about to embark on a new journey; the wonderful world of Stagecoaches and Carriages. Starting tonight, there will be several camps and Stagecoaches which will allow you to travel to each city if you’ve got a bit of gold to spare. Beware, there are still dangers that present themselves on these alternative methods of travel – Bandits, Goblins, and even the unpredictable forces of nature can set you back or even threaten your livelihood.

There will also be a new Ranger system available; if you are lucky enough, or wealthy enough, you will be able to hire one of these well traversed men or women to take you to hidden or difficult locales; again, there is always danger present when traversing off the beaten path in Altherra.

Beginning next week, we’ll be having atleast two mini-quests a week, and pending player availability, a World Event which will move us along in the world storyline.

New Webchat, Quests

For all players interested, there is an event planned for tomorrow sometime after 12:00pm PST. Join us to find out about the small earthquakes that have been occurring around Altus and what’s causing them.

In other news, we’ve got a fairly active IRC room here at Legends Reborn, and it’s one of the best (aside from in-game) forms of communicating with players and staff. There are a couple different methods of connecting; downloading an IRC Client and they’re covered here or using our new Webchat.
